Welcome to Altrincham & District Athletic Club Minimize

Altrincham & District Athletic Club are a friendly, sociable club based in Timperley, which is situated on the South Manchester/Cheshire border.
It was founded in 1961 by four people - Alan & Janet Hardman, and Doug & Elsie Allen

We cater for all four disciplines of athletics:
Track&Field, Road Running, Cross-Country Running and Fell Running.
We have a membership of over 200, which is increasing all the time.
We welcome everybody to our training activities and membership, regardless of ability. Whether you're looking to lose weight, seeking to get fitter, an athlete from another sport or a complete beginner training for a marathon and joining in for some company in their training, you are most welcome to join in our training sessions with no obligations.

We have a thriving Young Athletes section with as many as 50 youngsters attending some training nights. If you live in the area, why not bring your child down? The emphasis is on FUN!!

The social side of Altrincham is second to none. Twice every year, a training weekend takes place in the Lake District and it's definitely a case of train hard, play hard!! There are also weekends in Wales, a series of Thursday evening fell runs in the summer with a pub meal afterwards, an annual social evening early in the new year to mention just a few events.

Training sessions are all led by qualified coaches. There are two distance running groups (due to the vast number that take part) for senior athletes and two groups for young athletes (with the two groups concentrating on different areas of athletics). There is also a sprinting group led by Jerry Tucker, while throws training is led by Sarah Wilkins.
